A mind is a powerful tool, it has been programmed from childhood holding all our life experiences, beliefs and emotions. From the environment you grew up in, not all patterns of behaviours stored in the sub conscious though are helpful or useful, overtime these patterns can lead to anxieties, low self-esteem, stress and much more.
Hypnosis can be amazingly effective and often directly responsible for major changes in an individual’s life pattern. We are all living such busy lives that it is no wonder that so many people are struggling with just everyday stresses and strains of life.
The wonderful thing about Hypnotherapy is it can deal with the symptoms here in the present without delving into past experiences. You do not have to relive distressing memories if you don’t want to, but we can remove the negative emotions in the subconscious from any experiences from the past, that are or maybe holding you back from enjoying life now. We cannot change the past, but we can look forward to the future.
Before hypnotising the client, I will discuss in detail the problem that needs to be resolved and the goal that the individual would like to achieve.
Finally, based on the results of the client’s suggestibility and the nature of the problem or goal, I will guide you into a pleasant and relaxed state and once the chatter of the conscious mind is switched off, the individualised therapy can then begin.
The hypnosis itself which just feels as though you are nicely relaxed, allows you to access your subconscious mind and make changes at that subconscious level. At all times you are completely in control, your mind will only accept what it agrees with and the changes you make feel very natural because they have been decided by you.
Hypnosis is a natural state that we allow ourselves to enter several times a day. It is a natural feeling, of a daydreaming like state between waking and sleep. Hypnosis is similar to meditation, except you have an experienced therapist to guide you. For many, this relaxation is completely refreshing and for some the first experience of pure calmness for some time.
Once you have learnt how Hypnosis feels, you are able to achieve the state yourself with practice so you can take yourself into and out of this state of relaxation whenever you wish to. This is called self-Hypnosis
